My Journey with Josefina Montoya

Hey everyone! I’m bursting with excitement to introduce you all to the newest member of my American Girl family: Miss Josefina Montoya!

Josefina is a doll I’ve had my eye on since I was a kid. Back then, my grandmother brought me her mini doll after a trip to Santa Fe, and I was over the moon with joy. That little doll held a special place in my heart, but somewhere along the way, I lost her. Since rekindling my love for American Girl dolls, I’ve dreamed of adding a full-sized Josefina to my collection.

A few months back, I was all set to buy her, but then, well, Miss Grace caught my eye and stole my heart. ???? So, Josefina had to wait. But, as luck would have it, my best friend surprised me with Josefina for my birthday this year.

I’m beyond grateful! She’s from the 35th Anniversary Collection, which means she came with her original Meet Outfit, accessories, and Meet book.

What makes Josefina even more special is how much we have in common. We both hail from New Mexico, we both have a shy yet playful demeanor, and we share a love for knitting, nature, and music. She’s my first doll with earrings and also my first doll with beautiful black hair. Growing up, Josefina was the historical character that resembled me the most, so I wouldn’t be surprised if I use her as my mini-me in photos from time to time.

Josefina’s story has always resonated with me. Her journey of courage, resilience, and embracing her heritage mirrors my own in many ways. Unboxing her, I was immediately drawn to the intricate details of her outfit – the vibrant colors, the traditional patterns – it all felt so familiar and nostalgic. Her bright eyes and warm smile seemed to say, “I’m home.”

As I carefully placed her next to my other dolls in my cozy little apartment, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of memories from my childhood, intertwined with new ones we are yet to create. Josefina isn’t just another doll in my collection; she’s a bridge to my past and a companion for the future.

Her timeless beauty, rich history, and the sense of connection she brings are truly unmatched. Plus, her accessories and outfits are so much fun to mix and match – the possibilities are endless!

So, here’s to new adventures with Josefina. Whether she’s knitting a cozy scarf, exploring the beauty of nature in Santa Fe, or simply enjoying some music, she’s sure to bring a touch of magic to every moment we share.
